New year, new wardrobe!

Ok ladies, the new year is fast approaching and if your anything like me you'll be fed up and bored with your wardrobe and wanting a new look for the fresh new year. But what do you do when you've got very little to spend in the sales?? Well my advice is firstly go through your wardrobe and be ruthless, put the bits that you no longer like, fit or have not worn for a year or more and put them all on eBay, even if they only sell for £0.99 per item (they will sell for more, especially if branded like topshop, mss Selfridge etc), you'll be surprised at how much it all adds up and depending on how much you've got to sell, you could end up with a £100 to spend on new stuff, well worth it for the afternoon that it will take you to list them.

My second tip is to shop the sales online and avoid all that pushing and shoving and tiresome wondering around from shop to shop. The good points to this are -

1. It's easier to stick to a budget as most sites you can browse by price
2. You can take your time to really have a good look around, put things into your basket then go back later.
3. The biggest positive is that unlike real sale shopping, you wont end up coming home with stuff that you will never wear but just had to have as it was a bargain at£5
4. All this and you can do it in the comfort of your own home and at anytime, with a nice cuppa/glass of wine, music on and feet up... Ahhh.

Here's an example of what's online in the sales right now...

This lovely dress is £25 at Dorothy Perkins down from £43 and this gorgeous chic jacket is now £30 from topshop down from £55 and also from the sale are these sexy leopard print shoes at £25 and the fab seventies style red dress is £18 in the peacocks sale.

Celeb style - Kelly Osbourne's Red dress

Kelly Osborne looked absolutely divine in this Jexika lace trim dress at the launch of E! Entertainment in Munich last night.

But if you want to steal Kelly's style unfortunately it won't come cheap, this dress is a whopping £625 from http://www.jexika.com/ maybe one for the Christmas list girls (if the whole family chip in that is)!

Or you could Gok it and add a couple of lace strips to the side of this £16 Red dress from F&F at Tesco which would give you a very similar look.

Bright Spark

Well girls, brightly coloured trousers have been around since the start of SS11, but the good news is that they will still be around over AW11 and what better way to brighten up your winter wardrobe than to invest in a pair or two to keep those winter blues at bay. Although probably not wise to wear these on really rainy day, unless you like the mud speckled look!

Asos have got pretty much every colour and shade that you could wish for, here are my top picks

The purple ones are my fav's (£40) i think they are absolutely gorgeous and can be easily mixed with Autumnal shades that you already have in your winter wardrobe.

The red ones are a great choice as they will also look great with winter colours and boots etc but a little pricey at £95.

And the apple green ones are just £30

Biker chic

I never thought that I would be suggesting biker jackets as an essential wardrobe piece in July but due the rubbish weather that we've having the leather biker jacket should be your go to item to keep the chills away and keep you super stylish right now. Plus I think it's a piece that every woman should own to bring out their inner sexy rock chick!

It can make most outfits look instantly chic and edgy especially when worn with something feminine like a tea dress.

The two bottom jackets are both £120 from ASOS and the lovely light dusky pink one here is from Miss Selfridge at £49

A day at the races...

It's coming up to that time of year girls, ascot, summer weddings, garden parties and what is a girl to do with all of the cost of buying new dresses? Well I would suggest investing in pieces that you can wear on more than just these occasions, Shift dresses for instance are a great buy as you can dress them up for these kind of events with some statement jewellery, a gorgeous clutch bag and some killer heels, plus you can also wear to work or out and about with flats and a denim jacket for a smart/casual look. The high street is full of shift dresses at the moment, so you have a large array of choice, here are so me of my favs from Oasis

And for those of you that want to go all out for more of a party dress how about these from Asos

And remember to wear a sensible but pretty pair of knickers on those days where there's a risk of a sudden gust of wind!!

Just because you're plus size, it doesn't mean that there isn't a great range of fashionable dresses to suit you. Click here for more information and to visit the One Stop Plus website so you can browse their extensive dress collection.

New Look launch DD+ bras

For those of you boobilicious bigger busted girls, I'm thrilled to tell you that our favourite budget high street clothes store New Look has launched a DD+ range of bras!

I for one am very excited about this as they tend to do really gorgeous underwear but have previously only started their bigger sizes from and upto a 34DD which is quite frustrating if like myself you have a smaller back size.

Take a look at these lovely pieces, they are a fraction of the price of say La Senza.

These bras are both £11.99 each and you can get a two pack of essential summer strapless bras for just £11.99.... Fantastic!

Go to New Look to view the range.

Pretty woman

I am all about the dresses at the moment girls, and to my delight whilst searching for the perfect little summer dress (or three) I spotted this gorgeous little peach polkadot shirt dress at Dorothy Perkins which I think is a spit of the dress worn by Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. What do you reckon?

I know that the colour isn't quite right, but its almost there and at only £36 this is such a bargain when you think of how many years worth of wear you'll get out of it as it's such a classic style and perfect summer after summer...snap it up girls before it's gone.

Plus to make things even sweeter, you can get 20% off until tomorrow (5th may) by entering 'DPVC20' at the checkout!

This look is also great for women who are pregnant. Check out Very's fantastic collection of maternity dresses

Step back in time....

The seventies are well a truly revived this season, this is a style era that I absolutely adore so I'm thrilled. My favourite thing about this trend is the Palazzo trouser, they are oh so feminine, floaty and can conceal a multitude of sins and offer a number of styling options.

Top picks from Topshop..

Topshop have got some great new items at the moment, i have just spent ages drooling over my keyboard wishing that i had a rich husband (or at least one with a bit more dough that my actual husband), i could easily spend hundreds of pounds in the space of about 15 mins on the Topshop website right now, but back to reality, and i have had to whittle it down to just a few items.
Perfect to get you in the mood for summer (though we're not quite there yet), this lovely nude and cream lace detail top (£32) is the perfect item to wear with a skirt or trousers for a smart work look or with jeans for a sophisticated but casual look. Wedges are huge this season, so should be a real staple in any fashion forward girls wardrobe right now, i love these green ones (£70), they are also available in a Tan shade.

And to tie in with this season's safari trend, these zebra print earrings are gorgeous and just £7.50

Short story....

In case you hadn't noticed ladies shorts are big news at the moment, you'll find them in every highstreet shop and they are my must buy for this time of year as you can wear them right now with thick cosy tights and heels and they will make your legs look incredably long and slender, but they will also take you right through the summer months.

Wear them to work with a smart blouse or a cool t-shirt and blazer, wear with flat boots and a chunky knit cardi for a cool casual look or sexy them up with a party top and killer heels for a night out!

Top left, £36 ASOS premium, top right £29.99 River Island and bottom, £39 Mango.
